In 1802 the Robertson County Court ordered John to oversee road construction from Springfield, TN to Port Royal. John purchased 60 acres in 1803 on the North side of Sulpher Springs. He sold this land in 1817. He purchased 160 acres from Sterling Smith in 1814 and sold this land five years later. Appeared in the 1820 census for Robertson County.
John married Phebe Culbertson on 12 Jan 1795 in Orange County, North Carolina. (Phebe Culbertson was born in 1780 in Orange County, North Carolina.)
