Arrived in Robertson County Tennessee circa 1800/1801. In October 1803 he bought 160 acres from John Hutchison. He lived about a mile from his father-in-law Isaac Dorris

Elisha married Margaret (Peggy) Dorris, daughter of Isaac Dorris and Susannah Barker, in 1801 in Robertson County, Tennessee. (Margaret (Peggy) Dorris was born between 1780 and 1790 in North Carolina and died in May 1842 in Robertson County, Tennessee.)
