Here is an item from the Maryland State archieves pertaining to a suit brought by Peter Joy concerning what his wife's mother had done with her husband's estate. Apparently Dorothy Goldson had remarried a couple of times and her husband was not following the will with regard to the disposal of Daniel's estate. We are not sure how the entire thing turned out:

Liber B B To the honble the Gouernor & Councell. The humble Petn of Peter Joy & John Mirth, Sheweth. That whereas Daniel Goldson, who was father to yor Petrs wife, some yeares since departed this life, Left a Considerable Estate in the hands of Dorothy his Wife, whom by Will hee made his absolute Execatrix, The wch Estate (as by Will may appeare Relaon being thereunto had) was to bee kept whole & entyre uppon the Plantaon Left by the foresd Deceased. But now soe it is tht the sd Executrix since marryed wth Giles Sadler, & after the sd Sadlers Decease marryed againe wth Mr Hugh Sanley, Who hath wholly nullated the will of the sd Goldson by selling the Cattle & hoggs, & taking the seruants of from the sd Plantaon, Contrary to the Will of the sd Goldson, All wch ought to haue beene kept entire uppon the sd Plantaon, untill yowng Daniel Goldson yor Petrs Brother in Law should haue come to age. Neyther hath the Executrix, or any other for her, as yor Petr yett knoweth of, gyuen an accompt of the sd Goldsons Estate, as [p. 116] touchings the orphans, alithough by Law in this Prouince Admistra— tors or Executrs are thereby Engaged soe to doe. By wch neglect yor Petr humbly Conceiues, tht if not timely preuented, both himself e wth the other Orphans (concerned in the sd Will) will bee utterly depryued & outted of their iust dues, wherefore yor Petr humbly Craues tht yor honors will take the prmisses into serious Consideraon, & Graunt yor Petrs such Releife as Law & Equity hath prouided in such Cases, & yor Petrs &c: shall pray &c:

. DANIEL GOLSON immigrated to Maryland in 1650 and settled on the Patuxent River. He brought with him his wife SARAH GOLSON, and a son MATHEW GOLSON(Patents ABH: 322). According to THE ARCHIVES OF MARYLAND PETER JOY tried to obtain what was due to his wife and her brother " The young DANIEL GOLSON" In the Provincial Court Proceedings of 1663. The record states that DANIEL GOLSON "was father to PETER's Wife, and that when Daniel GOLSEON died he left a considerable estate in the hands of "DOROTHY his Wife"

DOROTHY ______GOLSON was the second wife of DANIEL GOLSON. As a widow DOROTHY married secondly GILES SADLER, an Attorney in Calvert County. According to patents DOROTHY SADLER widow of GILES SADLER married HUGH STANLEY, Gentleman, prior to 1663. HUGH STANLEY, the third husband of DOROTHY, died by 11/13/1669 when his will was probated (1:353) (5:409). HUGH STANLEY did not mention any step- children when he wrote his will a couple of years prior. He did mention that his wife may have been with child.
Daniel married Sarah. (Sarah was born about 1615 in England.)
Daniel next married Dorothy.
