Jacob was granteed a Land Patent (#10303) for 120 acres in Muhlenberg County, KY on 29 Dec 1815. (S.G.R. Book 18, page 99)

White County History, page 622, says Jacob Hunsinger came to White CO. IL in 1818 and the first election in Burnt Prairie was in 1818 in the house of Jacob Hunsinger, Sr. one mile south of Liberty.

Mrs. Loren Harris, Fairfield, Illinois is in possession of the Ezekiel Hunsinger family Bible. Ezekiel was the grandson of Mathias and Mary. The Bible contained a list of Mathias and Mary's children and the names of their children's children. The list ends with the notation "four others not remembered".

The 1850 Census of White CO. IL shows Jacob Hunsinger, age 77, born NC, residing in household #2027 with his son-in-law Charles Arterbury and wife Susan. Charles Atterberry's parents, John and Barbary were living in house #2074.

Jacob and Mary, along with their family were members of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Burnt Prairie, White County, Illinois.

Jacob married Elizabeth Betsy Shull, daughter of Peter Shull and Anna Dorthea Kinsley, in Apr 1805 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. (Elizabeth Betsy Shull was born on 15 Sep 1786 in Fayette, Pennsylvania, died on 11 Jan 1859 in Burnt Prarie, White County, Illinois and was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery White, Illinois.)
