Sallie's parents came by way of the Old Bristol Trail, through Strawberry Plains and Bull's Gap from North Carolina in 1812.

Her fathers name was Philip Yontz thats all that is known

Sallie married Peter (Scholl) Shull, son of Peter Shull and Anna Dorthea Kinsley. (Peter (Scholl) Shull was born on 22 Mar 1787 near Fort Cumberland, Maryland, died on 24 Dec 1869 in Ohio County, Kentucky and was buried in 1869 in Nelson Creek Baptist Cemetery, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.)
