Barbara married Laughlin.

I didn't find Barbara in the Ontario Vital Statistics index for marriages; according to the 1881 federal census, she was still living at home with her parents. She was no longer at home by they 1891 census, so I assume she was married in between. I don't know exactly when, or what her husband's first name was. According to the family's oral tradition, Barbara and her husband "moved to the US." Circumstantial evidence points to their having gone to Minnesota somewhere, but the exact location is unknown, as are the number and names of any children they had. Barbara's husband may have been an American, but this is not certain; nor are we certain whether they were married in Ontario or in the US. Barbara would not have been underage and should not have needed her parents' permission, so I can't think of any reason why she wouldn't have been married at home before she left the country.
