Obit : Mrs. Elizabeth Troutman Sep-21-1906 News Bullitt Co
Mr. Willis Troutman and Mr. J.W. Woods of Lebanon Ind, have returned home after they were summoned to the beside of their mother, Mrs. E. Troutman. On Thursday evening Sept 6, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm Collings, Mrs. Elizabeth Troutman passed peacefully away at the ripe old age of 89 years. All the children, with the exception of one daughter, Mrs. Woods of Lebanon Ind., were gathered around the bedside when the end came. She had been ill for the past three years, but until a few weeks prior to her death, was not confined to her bed. She was a most remarkable old lady and had many friends through out the county, being perhaps, one of the oldest residents. She leaves two sons and three daughters, Mr. M.J. Troutman of Washington county, Mr. Willis Troutman of Indiana. Mrs. Caroline Collings, Mrs. Belle Harned, and Mrs. Woods of Ind. besides a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. B.P. Martin in the Avenue Baptist church on Friday morning, after which the remains were laided to rest besides those of her husband in the old family grave yard near the old Troutman homestead on Cane Run.
