Area: 196 acres in Prince William Co VA, beginning on a small branch falling into the North Main Branch of Powell's Run, joining the heirs of WILLIAM BROWNE dec'd, WILLIAM BLAND, and WILLIAM BARKER. "Whereas Mr: GEORGE BYRNE of the County of P:William has represented that there is a certain Tract of Land lying and being on the No: side of broad Run in the said County, being part of a larger Tract granted to CLEMENT CHEVALL and LEWIS RENO sold and convey'd to WILLIAM SPILLER who sold and conveyed the same to Mr: HENRY PARRY decased [sic] without leaving any known Heirs or making legal Disposition thereof, And having a Warrant out of my Office to Survey the Same, And no Person appearing to Claim the said Land or object to the said GEORGE BYRNE having a Deed for the same, except Mr: JOHN ELLIOTT of the County of Westmoreland, who upon a full hearing was adjudged insufficient to object to the said Land being granted as Escheatable to the said Petitioner". "Tradition tells us that George Byrn came from Ireland in the first half of the Eighteenth Century. It is also said that he belonged to a family that had property and lands in County Kildare and also in Dublin."
"In the years 1752 and 1753 he was engaged in surveying about Winchester which was then being laid out. While returning to his home in Prince William he was bitten on the leg by a mad dog. He died soon after reaching home."

Became guardian of three orphan boys, William, John, and George Brown, in June, 1746.
George married Lydia L Steele about 1725 in Caroline, Virginia. (Lydia L Steele was born about 1705 in Prince William County, Virginia and died before 5 May 1772 in Prince William County, Virginia.)
