George and Mary lived on the original plantation the Northern Neck in Farnham Parish, Essex County, Virginia. Soon after the revolution they moved into the northern part of the state and settled in a lovely little valley along the South fork of the Potomac River in Hampshire County (now West Virginia). The Taylor homes were near the present Springfield, West Virginia.
George married Mary Tarpley about 1740. (Mary Tarpley was born on 7 Dec 1723 in North Farnham, Old Rappahannock, Virginia.)
George next married Anne Taylor Savage in 1742. (Anne Taylor Savage was born in 1718 in Ireland and died in 1768 in Pennsylvania.)
