Son's 1880 census listing states Frances was born in Indiana.
Daughter's 1900 census listing states Frances was born in Tennessee.

Name on daughter's death certificate: Frances Murray

Either died or divorced from J.N. Thierry by 1865, as he remarried that year.

1860 Warrick County, IN census:

Frances was living with her parents. Her name is listed as Francis E Thiry
There is no sign of John Nicholas Thiry in the area. I have had no luck locating him in 1860.
However, either at the same household, or next door, I found Daniel H Thiry, 2 years of age. This is too much of a coincidence as Frances' father's name was Daniel H. I've therefore entered him as another child of John & Frances.

As for why Frances & John were not living together, either:
1. He was off fighting in the war
2. They were seperated
3. They were divorced
4. He was dead and the John N. Thiry I have found on the later census images wasn't actually the same person.

Of these possibilities, I believe 2 or 3 was the most probable.

Either way, Frances gave birth to Jula Theodosia in April of 1861, which was just about 8 months after the census was taken.

1860 Pike County IN census:

Finally found John Thiry & Frances living together, with her parents right next door. What's interesting is that they must have went from Pike Co. (where they were enumerated in June) to Warrick Co. (where they were enumerated in August). So, due to a move in the intervening 2 months, they moved to Warrick Co. and ended up being in the census twice.

As to why John Thiry isn't found on the 1860 Warrick Co. census and his wife is living with her parents, I am still not certain. Perhaps he stayed behind in Pike Co. to sell land/belongings.

I have had no luck locating Frances or her daughter Julia in subsequent census years, until Julia gets married and can be found with her husband in the 1880 census.
