Witnesses at Rachel's marriage to Albert H.Ploeg: Ariaan Roos, Geesje Pier,Maria Nucella and Mary Singer. Married by Dominie Nucella, at Kingston, NY.

On April 17,the widow Rachel married Allert Hendrickson Ploeg. "In the presence of Ariaan Roos, Geesje Pier (her uncle Arent Theunissen's wife? Her unnamed sibling on the passenger list?), Maria Nucella (wife of the Domine Nucella) and Mary Singer, was Rachel Pier with her chemise over her clothes married to Allert Hendrickson Ploeg by me (Domine) Nucella". She is called widowof Arie Franssen born Amsterdam, residing Kingston (Ulster Co.,N.Y.) The significance of the chemise is that she brought none of her first husband's debts to her second. I understand that this was symbolic, without legal binding.
