11-9-1840 all the huffman children were in custody of Wm. Small, William's wife was Mary Huffman, and in 1850 census they were neighbors of Anna Martin and Abraham G. Philips who had James Huffman (16) in their household

John H Huffman, age 11 was listed in the household of John Thurman and guess what - John Thurman was married to a Rhoda MARTIN, who I suspect is a daughter of Samuel Martin by his first wife - 2nd wife was Nancy Hackworth.

Have a copy of the 10th November 1840 Spencer County court records where William small was appointed guardian for the 5 children.
