General Notes:
Probable place of birth of Pennsylvania. But possibly Virginia. ------------------------------------------------ Spencer, Indiana 1820 Federal Census Jacob Huffman 1 free white male between 26 - 44 1 free white female between 26 - 44 3 free white females under 10
However, if he died in 1809 (& his wife remarried in 1810), this would have to have been another Jacob Huffman. ------------------------------------------------ Info on a POSSIBLE additional child & descendants) of this couple:

I'm not sure where, if anywhere, this one fits in. ------------------------------------------------ From N. Russell 1 Jun 03:
I'm still pondering the Amos/Samuel Martin problem. 1810 Nelson County shows Amos with 4 small children in his household. 3 boys under 10, 1 girl under 10 - a male 16-25 and a male 26-44 which would be Amos. since Amos had just married they couldn't be his children (well, all things are possible I guess)
These small children must be the children of Jacob Huffman-Mary Ann Gunterman. This makes me believe that the Mary Huffman that married William Small was John Huffman's sister. They were the first guardians of all 5 of John and Mary Ann children. They married 1824 in Spencer Co. I'm betting the other boys were Jacob and George. or maybe William.
A Jacob and Catherine Huffman moved to Spencer County from KY, about 1830 and they were the parents of the John N. Huffman that was a civil war vet. ------------------------------------------------ Marriage record copy received June 2003 from Nelson County & all info verified
Marriage date listed is actually marriage bond date. Actual marriage date may be different. ------------------------------------------------ Other things to ponder over - where and if they fit in:
