Phillip Troutman Patterson Phillip attended Kentucky Institution for Education of the Blind, Louisville, from 1850 to 1858. The annual fee for board, tuition, washing, and music, was One Hundred Dollars. The school was started in 1842 with five pupils. In 1850 there were 43 students. The school is now known as the Kentucky School for the Blind.
In 1880 census Phillip is shown living in Leitchfield with Giles Kelley family.
In 1910 census Philip is shown as a boarder at home of Barney R. Fraze.
Philip was the author of "The Recollections of Philip Patterson".
