Conrad was probably born in one of the Palatine settlements in the Mohawk or Schoharie Valley in New York.

Conrad was a Captain in the Second Regiment of the New Jersey Militia during the American Revolution. He is listed in the Sussex County, New Jersey Rateables along with his brother, Henry, whom was also a Captain in the New Jersey Militia.

Conrad's son, Henry, married Barbara Gunterman, the daughter of Conrad's brother, Henry.

Conrad married Mary Simmons.
